It's really frustrating every time this function get called making ships no longer show any damages.
Is there a way to work around this?
BTW, how does the workerbee's beam work? I see it can regenerate ship's skin.

The Repair Beam is just a Phaser with a negative damage value.

Unfortunately the BC visual damage system is not deterministic. Meaning you can try to manually apply all the visual damage (with alone is a lot of work), but still won't get you exactly the same result.

Thank you for your reply, Defiant.
Hmm, I'm thinking of placing Repair Beams inside the starbase with extremely high negative damage that can automatically sweep every parts of docked ships...

But the AI won't be able to handle that.

Besides, if you dock at the base you can automatically repaired.

Uh, how about making a repair beam large enough that can fire forever without recharging, and place it behind the entrance or at the top and bottom of the ship bay so each time ship goes in it'll be hit.
Of course whenever we docks, all subsystem + power + shield... will be restored to its full state as it's already written in the script, we just need to get rid of the removevisibledamage function.
The repair beam is meant to fix the visible damages of ships. I think we just need to make the starbase work like workerbee, but maybe we need to remove all of its phasers first.

You can strip the removevisibledamage from the docking script.

Yup, but removing it will keep the current visible damage. BTW, it's in ship action script where it repair ship fully. In mission 3 part 1's script, there also a function called Disablevisibledamage and restorevisibledamage. I try to tamper with these 2 but look like it can only disable visible damage in the option without abandon the game. It's quite interesting when your ship get some visible damage and this function get called, the ship still keep its visible damages but you cannot give it more visible damage.

Yeah, I realize that just now... how unfortunate. Looks like there's no choice but stripping the starbase off its phasers.
