Well, i have been attempting a few differant ways to get friendly ships and enemy ships to group up closer together and move more as a fleet, however i have been unsuccessful.

First i tried using the "GoToTargetsSide" plainAI, and that didn't work. All that happend with that is every time i put it onto the fedattack.py AI file the feds just sat there doing nothing at all. (mabye i am mucking something up with the object or vside names? not sure ;/)

Second i tried using the selectTarget preprocess to select a friendly AI as a candidate for the fleet to congregate around... same thing happened as before... ai just sitting in space doing nothing.

So, i have really run out of ideas. Everything i have tried has ended up with the AI sitting there doing nothing. No crash, no nothing. So if someone out here has a working method to get allied and enemy ships to stick together (formation does not matter) i would really like to see it and see what i have been doing wrong. Thanks.

Just an update... i tried mucking around with the avoid obstacles preprocess so that i could just start the ships off in a fleet and they would proceed towards the enemies while staying together (yea they wouldent stick together much after the fighting started but hey i haven't figure out how to get anything else rolling ;)). Well, it seems that no matter what i do, at the start of the QB if the ai ships start too close to each other they instead fly at max speed away using their collision detection (and hilarious bumper cars usually ensues). I tried to modify the "personal space" constant in the preprocess to make it so that they don't care if there are ships near (only care if they will actually hit them in the future) but no matter what i do they still fly away from each other at the start.

Besides pulling out the avoid obstacles preprocessor (pretty funny 40 ships crashing into each other i gotta tell you  ) i have no idea how to stop the preprocessor from getting really nervous when other ships are nearby, but not on a collision course. Any help on that would be appreciated.
